Stan the Robot will park your car at Paris-Charles De Gaulle airport
Parisian firm Stanley Robotics has created a robot called Stan that can drop and pick up your car for you at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The robot picks up your car close to the terminals, so travelers do not have to lug their bags to check in, and takes it to a secure car park. The system is connected to your flight details, so your car will be in the garage and ready to leave when you get back from your trip.
As well as making things easier for holiday makers, Stan can park cars closer together, increasing car park capacities by up to 50%, without changing existing infrastructure. Stan, the result of a two-year research project, is run by electricity and can park 20,000 to 30,000 cars a year.
Edward Arkwright, chief executive of ADP group, which manages Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, said: “The automated valet service meets our new brand’s commitments while guaranteeing travelers improved time management.
“Paris airport has chosen a bold new service to continue looking towards the future and innovating for the client. This service is the direct result of working together with start-ups, Stanley Robotics being one of them.”
